ABOUT US
We are specialised in the prevention and preparedness for vector-borne diseases affecting animal and public health by providing essential solutions and their implementation to the community worldwide.
Eva Veronesi, Italian, PhD, is an expert on medical and veterinary entomology with more than 25 years of experience in different aspects related to blood-sucking insect vectors such as mosquitoes, Culicoides biting midges, and sand flies (see Projects & Publications).
Our strength lies in vector surveillance and vector control through an integrated management approach (environmental changes, natural and chemical interventions) and also on the investigation of the interactions between pathogens and vectors to understand the transmission mechanisms and factors influencing disease spread (e.g. environmental changes, temperature, genetic mutation, population diversity, etc.).
We have been working as project manager, project development and consultant for European and oversees public authorities, institutions, universities, private companies, NGOs, and we collaborate in several national and international projects as principal investigator, project leader and partner (e.g. Horizon 2020 Infravec2, Horizon 2020 ZikAlliance, Horizon 2020 VectorNet).
Our holistic approach aims to create a balance between the environment, humans and animals on a global level and for its sustainability by raising public awareness of critical health-related matters that affect everyone.
We believe that communication and collaboration are the basis for preventing diseases affecting humans and animals. The contribution to the prevention of epidemics comes from those who do research and those who believe in research. This is why we work hand in hand with government authorities, research institutes, private industry, and above all, with the public, the primary stakeholder.
